    Mechanical Engineer

    Position Overview

    Finish Line Staffing Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and execution of custom-engineered equipment projects from initial planning through manufacturing, testing, and installation support.This role requires strong mechanical design expertise, project management capabilities, and the ability to independently manage engineering deliverables while collaborating with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and technical teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead mechanical engineering projects from initial design through manufacturing, testing, and delivery.
    • Design and develop custom-engineered equipment, mechanical systems, and assemblies.
    • Prepare accurate engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
    • Review designs for functionality, manufacturability, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
    • Manage engineering schedules, project milestones, technical deliverables, and resource requirements.
    • Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
    • Review P&IDs, customer specifications, and technical requirements to ensure system integration.
    • Support equipment assembly, troubleshooting, testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
    • Identify engineering risks, design issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
    • Communicate project progress, technical concerns, and scope changes to internal stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with customers and vendors to address engineering requirements and project challenges.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers while maintaining engineering standards.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.
    • Demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering, equipment design, or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
    • Proven ability to independently manage engineering projects or major technical scopes.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and equipment integration.
    • Experience developing engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
    • Ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and customer requirements.
    • Experience supporting equipment fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, and testing.
    • Strong project coordination, technical problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience designing custom industrial equipment or automated manufacturing systems.
    • Familiarity with vacuum systems, process gas systems, instrumentation, or related industrial equipment.
    • Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and equipment commissioning.
    • Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring junior engineers.
