Job Duties & Responsibilities
-Reverse engineer aircraft mechanical parts and systems by creating sketches, 3D CAD models, dimensional analyses, production drawings, and detailed technical documentation.
-Investigate in-service equipment failures, determine root causes, and develop repair solutions while evaluating fits, tolerances, materials, surface treatments, and manufacturing processes.
-Perform stress, fatigue, and structural analyses to support mechanical design and repair decisions, ensuring components meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
-Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, certification teams, and FAA Designated Engineering Representatives to develop repair documentation and complete FAA certification packages.
Required Skills & Experience
-Bachelor"s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience in design, manufacturing, or quality.
-Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat, along with a strong understanding of engineering drafting standards and technical documentation.
-Working knowledge of machining, forming, casting, and other manufacturing processes, as well as material properties, heat treatment, plating, coatings, and anodizing.
-Experience with CAD/3D modeling and mechanical engineering analysis, with strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
-Aerospace experience involving hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical aircraft systems, along with familiarity with FAA standards and certification requirements.
-Experience with reverse engineering, structural/stress/fatigue analysis, and hands-on shop or manufacturing environments.
Compensation & Benefits
-$70,000-$105,000, commensurate with experience, plus potential company and individual performance bonuses.
