Mechanical Designer

Our client, a pharmaceutical and biotechnology equipment manufacturer, is looking to hire a Mechanical Designer in Tonawanda, NY.

Pay Rate Range: $65,000–$75,000, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Create and modify 2D and 3D part and assembly models alongside mechanical engineers.

• Generate and modify 2D engineering drawings based on 3D models.

• Maintain structured bills of material and parts lists for assemblies.

• Review drawings for layout, completeness, accuracy, constructability, and adherence to design and drafting standards.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of internal design and drafting standards.

• Ensure designs meet internal standards, project technical requirements, and scope.

• Review drawings provided by vendors, clients, and other engineering disciplines throughout the project.

• Ensure assigned design work is accurate, complete, and delivered according to project requirements.

• Interact with customers and internal/external personnel as a member of the Project Team.

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of mechanical design experience.

• Associate degree or higher in Drafting & Design Technology, Engineering Graphics, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.

• Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault.

• Experience with P&IDs and process piping.

• Experience working with pressure vessels.

• Ability to understand design concepts for large industrial equipment, particularly in pharmaceutical or similar applications.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage your own workload.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to work overtime as needed.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
