    Description

    Overview:

    UE Manufacturing is Now Hiring Mechanical Designer II located at 10000 NW 2nd, Oklahoma City, OK 73127.

    Responsible for creating and maintaining three-dimensional models and two-dimensional 
    drawings of manufactured equipment parts and assemblies in accordance with defined 
    standards. Prepare designs, layouts, and drawings of assemblies, parts, and systems with 
    guidance from engineers. Assist with revisions and updates to engineering documentation as 
    needed.

    Responsibilities:
    • Utilize design and drafting software to create and maintain three-dimensional models 
      and detailed two-dimensional fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings for 
      mobile and skid-mounted equipment.
    • Develop and maintain engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs).
    • Assist engineers in the layout and packaging of mechanical and electrical systems,
      ensuring designs meet functional and manufacturability requirements.
    • Support engineers by developing design concepts and assisting in evaluating design 
      options.
    • Interpret and apply company standards, customer specifications, and applicable drafting 
      practices to produce accurate, consistent, and manufacturable designs and 
      documentation.
    • Read and interpret manufacturing prints, technical drawings, and schematics.
    • Modify models and drawings and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to support 
      design updates, production issues, and continuous improvement efforts.
    • Work with fabrication and assembly teams to resolve design issues, clarify drawings, 
      support fit-up and installation, and incorporate feedback to improve future designs.
      Assist in reverse engineering of components and assemblies when required. 
      Support project scheduling efforts by providing input on task duration and progress.
      Occasional travel to customer sites, vendor locations, and other company facilities may 
      be required.
    Qualifications:
    • Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD software and mechanical design and drafting
      principles.
    • Working knowledge of ANSI drafting standards and basic GD&T.
    • Knowledge of weldments, sheet metal, and routing design.
    • Knowledge of Engineering Change Order (ECO) process in manufacturing.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
    • Ability to accept direction, correction and coaching from management and engineers
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work safely and follow all company processes and procedures.
    • Ability to build positive working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.

    Education: 

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Associate’s degree (technical school or college) preferred.

    Experience:

    • 3 - 5 years of related manufacturing or design experience required.
    • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software preferred.
    • Experience with manufacturing ERP system (Oracle, SAP, etc.) preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to occasionally climb ladders and crawl underneath trailers.
    • Work in the office as well as the shop floor
    • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
    • Occasionally exposed to cold, heat, noise, mechanical/electrical fume, or odor.
    • Manual dexterity is sufficient to work with fingers. 
    • Normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
