Mechanical Design Engineer

Ideal candidate will have experience with electromechanical systems - parts, modules, subsystems, and systems architecture . Precision mechanism development: actuator selection, tolerance analysis, life time evaluation, optics mounting, alignment & adjustment design, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus; no formal degree required
• 7+ years of design experience, ideally Creo or SolidWorks
• Previous experience taking a system from concept to manufacturing release. Ideal candidate will have experience with electromechanical systems - parts, modules, subsystems, and systems architecture
• Precision mechanisms design such as motors, stages, linkages, automation, etc.
• Experience in conducting various analysis, such as fluid, thermal, vibrational, and FEA modeling
• Concept to production development experience for capital equipment is preferred

Responsibilities: 

• Design, build, prototype testing  opto-mechanical assemblies.
• Collaborate development with core suppliers.
• Work with system, optical, electrical and software engineer to derive the subsystem requirements and conduct design reviews.
• CAD Modeling: Creo/ProEngineer experience preferred
• Precision mechanism development: actuator selection, tolerance analysis, life time evaluation, optics mounting, alignment & adjustment design, etc.
• CAE: thermal & structural simulation, flow analysis is a plus (ANSYS experience preferred)
• Qualify and release the mechanism design, provide support for onsite manufacturing.
