Mechanical Design Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a custom industrial equipment manufacturer, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in fluid systems design and component sizing looking to further their career in industrial equipment engineering.

•      Own upfront design of custom equipment modifications: define requirements, select materials, and create BOMs

•      Perform design calculations, including sizing and selecting pumps, valves, motors, and other fluid system components

•      Review models and verify drawings with designers; support production issues and root cause analysis

•      Develop test plans, support testing and validation, and partner with sales, procurement, and manufacturing

Essential Qualifications

•      2+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on shop floor exposure

•      Fluid systems experience required: design calculations and component sizing and selection, with ability to explain performance impact

•      Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Bonus Qualifications

•      ASME code familiarity; piping, pressure vessel, or metals design experience

•      Thermal, combustion, or oil and gas equipment experience

•      Test builds and test plan development; SolidWorks and AutoCAD
