Description

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer IV

Location: Greenville, South Carolina

Duration: 12 Months

Summary:

  • Work Mode: Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute high-fidelity finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate gas turbine hardware under complex thermal and mechanical boundary conditions.
  • Perform lifing analyses, including Low/High Cycle Fatigue (LCF/HCF), creep, oxidation, and fracture mechanics to ensure component reliability.
  • Conduct structural, modal, and forced response analyses; interpret results to create Campbell diagrams and characterize dynamic behavior.
  • Provide technical support for urgent engineering requests from field teams and support root cause analysis investigations to identify failure mechanisms.
  • Synthesize complex analytical findings into clear, actionable presentations for design reviews and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. person that can view export-controlled material.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering design experience.
  • Classic Ansys/mechanical (FEA) design experience.
  • NX (CAD) experience.
  • Knowledge of GD&T standards and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using PLM or Teamcenter configuration management tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master of Science in Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely with global teammates.
  • Prior experience supporting or leading root cause analyses (RCA).
  • Experience working in a services environment.
