Key Responsibilities:
Develop robust, cost-effective mechanical & structural solutions for a range of semiconductor tool pedestals that fall within tool manufacturer specifications and customer facility requirements.
Extract and interpret design values from customer specifications, manuals, and construction drawings.
Leverage new materials and coatings in alignment with customer requirements that provide flexibility of supply and cost reduction incentives.
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to new and existing designs that drive down costs and increase efficiency through the shop.
Use Inventor software to create detailed models, drawings, and perform FEA analysis for mechanical assemblies.
Bring new perspective and support to establish best practices for design and print creation.
Ability to adopt and apply Fulcrum’s documented design standards.
Develop fabrication and machining fixtures that support both in-house manufacturing and key suppliers.
Manage time sensitive design tasks to accommodate business needs.
Ensure design deliverables are aligned with downstream customers.
Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) as assigned, and address design related challenges in production.
Ability to communicate project status both verbally and in writing, identifying risks and resolution.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
3+ years of experience in mechanical design.
Proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor 2018 or newer.
Experience designing for metal fabrication & machine shop applications with knowledge of cutting, grinding, forming, welding and milling.
Experience with change management systems, standards, CAD systems & file structures, etc.
Comfortable working with both metric and U.S. standard units.
Familiar navigating an ERP system to identify information relative to components and materials.
Experience with semiconductor industry a plus
Work Environment:
Primarily in an on-site office environment within a manufacturing and engineering setting.
