Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Greensboro, NC. The ideal candidate with experience in product design, development, and engineering solutions, supporting new product introductions and cost optimization initiatives.
Rate Range: $45/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Mechanical Design Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and validate mechanical components and assemblies using Pro-E/Creo to meet product performance, quality, and cost requirements.
Support new product development activities from concept through production, including detailed engineering design and documentation.
Lead and execute Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects to improve product performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product deployment and production readiness.
Conduct engineering analyses, including FMEA, DOE, Root Cause Analysis, and design reviews to identify and resolve product issues.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners on machining, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal design projects to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
5+ years of experience in mechanical product design, development, and implementation.
Strong hands-on experience with Pro-E/Creo for 3D modeling, design development, and engineering documentation.
Experience with VAVE projects and manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal design, with knowledge of DFM, FMEA, DOE, and Root Cause Analysis preferred.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $49.00 per hour
