Mechanical Design Engineer - Product Development

Job Description

Seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development and standardization of industrial equipment product lines, including pump stations, water treatment systems, control panels, power distribution equipment, and related mechanical assemblies. This role focuses on creating innovative, manufacturable, and cost-effective designs while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and configurable product solutions.
  • Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD software.
  • Ensure designs meet manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost objectives.
  • Collaborate with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and procurement teams throughout product development.
  • Support prototype builds, production, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvements.
  • Develop and maintain design standards, templates, and component libraries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, including ANSI and UL.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Design/Drafting degree, certification, or Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-3+ years of mechanical design or drafting experience in an OEM, product development, or industrial equipment environment.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, fabrication drawings, and BOM creation.
  • Knowledge of ANSI and UL standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Autodesk Inventor experience.
  • BOM management experience.
  • Design-for-manufacturing experience with power distribution equipment, pump systems, or water/chemical treatment systems.

Work Environment

  • Monday-Friday schedule with a flexible start time between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
  • Primarily office-based with collaboration on the manufacturing floor as needed.
  • No travel required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
