Mechanical Design Engineer - Creo

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer - Creo in Maple Grove, Minnesota for a one-year hybrid contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support the design, development, analysis, testing, and production of complex mechanical systems including ammunition-handling equipment, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and related hardware. The engineer will create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo while supporting manufacturing, technical documentation, and engineering problem resolution.

Required Skills

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience creating moderately complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD software.
• Experience with PTC Creo, Pro/ENGINEER, or comparable 3D CAD software.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), including ASME Y14.5.
• Experience performing tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Ability to solve moderately complex mechanical design and development problems.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, models, technical documentation, and test results.
• Experience working with internal or external manufacturing shops to produce engineered designs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to support engineering analysis, testing, and product evaluation activities.

Preferred Skills

• 4+ years of Creo modeling and drawing-generation experience.
• Windchill or other engineering Product Data Management experience.
• Experience in a military or defense product manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with military and commercial engineering design standards.
• Experience developing precision assembly tooling.
• Familiarity with current mechanical engineering applications and technologies.

What You'll Do

• Research, plan, analyze, design, and develop mechanical products and systems.
• Design components for ammunition-handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and related equipment.
• Create and maintain parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings using PTC Creo Parametric.
• Perform engineering analysis, experimentation, testing, and product-assurance activities.
• Analyze specifications, drawings, models, documentation, and test results for compliance with engineering standards and product requirements.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance-analysis principles to mechanical designs.
• Support manufacturing teams and external shops during fabrication and production.
• Develop and revise technical documentation.
• Provide engineering input for technical papers, presentations, and production-support activities.
• Support development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Maintain compliance with applicable safety and engineering requirements.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Hybrid schedule in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
• Minimum of 3 days onsite per week.
• Tuesday and Wednesday are mandatory onsite days.
• The third onsite day may be Monday or Thursday.
• 9/80 work schedule.
• Overtime may be required.

Pay

• $55.57 per hour.
