    Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to work on a critical challenge facing the world's energy transition - Battery Cathode Materials.

    In this role, you will join a team of mechanical design engineers responsible for delivering equipment and facility modifications and expansions that enable high-volume, high-quality cathode production. Within a demanding and fast-paced environment, you will work closely with various stakeholders to ramp up large-scale production lines.

    • Conduct mechanical design for various solids handling & processing equipment (e.g. silos, hoppers, conveyors, piping, rotary valves, mixers)
    • Champion efficiency, constructability, quality, and safety, adhering to company & industry recognized practices
    • Support projects in concept development, detailed design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases
    • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, controls, EHS, and third-party vendors to ensure projects meet budget, schedule, production, and safety requirements
    • Engage in mechanical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts
    • Degree or Equivalent Experience in mechanical engineering or related field (e.g., aerospace, mechatronics)
    • 1+ years of experience within an industrial-scale manufacturing environment
    • Exceptional mechanical engineering fundamentals with demonstrated ability in effectively leveraging them to solve challenging technical problems
    • Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing equipment, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, repair scopes, and design improvements
    • Proficiency in 3D CAD design software (SolidWorks highly preferred)
    • Strong working knowledge of fabrication & assembly processes (e.g., machining, welding)
    • Familiarity with applicable engineering codes & standards (e.g., ASME)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
