Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer or a Mechanical Designer to support the design and development of industrial machinary. This role will be responsible for designing equipment and assemblies, producing detailed fabrication and shop drawings, and supporting projects from concept through manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of fabrication practices, weldments, tolerancing, and structural steel design.
Key Responsibilities- Design industrial machinery equipment
- Create detailed fabrication, assembly, and shop drawings using SolidWorks
- Develop 3D models, welded assemblies, and manufacturing documentation.
- Apply GD&T principles and dimensional tolerancing to ensure proper fit, function, and manufacturability.
- Design and utilize structural steel members, weldments, and fabricated assemblies in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, fabrication, and project teams to ensure designs can be efficiently produced and installed.
- Review designs for structural integrity, manufacturability, and cost-effective production.
- Support design revisions, troubleshooting, and field modifications as require
Required:- 5 plus years of heavy machinery design
- 3D CAD modeling skills preferably with Solidworks or Inventor
- Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, weld symbols, tolerancing, and GD&T.
- Experience designing with structural steel members and fabricated weldments.
- Ability to create detailed shop drawings suitable for manufacturing and fabrication
