Description

What You'll Do

The role involves overseeing mechanical validation initiatives from the creation of test procedures to the completion of final reports. You will be responsible for supervising three to four team members in the commissioning process. This position ensures that mechanical systems meet the Project's Specifications, Operational Sequences, and industry standards before the facility is handed over.

The ideal candidate should be adept at performing functional tests on active systems and mentoring less experienced engineers to improve their skills. Both fieldwork and leadership are integral to this role and should complement each other.

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan and Lead Mechanical Validation Initiatives
    • Review Project Specifications, Design Basis, plans, specifications, and submissions for the mechanical systems to be validated.
    • Examine and implement the client's Operational Sequences, identifying discrepancies and ambiguities before testing begins rather than during execution.
    • Develop and update mechanical test procedures — pre-functional checklists, startup and static verification, Functional Performance Tests, and Integrated Systems Tests.
    • Create and manage detailed validation schedules and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and site personnel to prepare equipment for testing.
    • Act as the Lead Validation Engineer on designated test programs at client sites throughout the Central Ohio region.
