Summary

APD is seeking a CAD Technician to work in a growing mechanical engineering department. This position will assist with producing mechanical CAD drawings for retail, restaurant, public infrastructure and facilities, recreation, education, and residential, with a heavy emphasis on retail design. Excellent opportunity for growth and advancement.



Key Responsibilities


  • Provide CAD support in preparing construction drawings for new and renovated buildings throughout the U.S., under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
  • Contribute to project success, working under the direction of mechanical design team members.
  • Contribute to improving company standards, design and drafting tools, attitude, and success.
  • This position involves prolonged periods of desk-based work and computer use.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise



Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and industry standards.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills with excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous design experience with a mechanical engineering firm or client.
  • Experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Understanding of engineering practices.
  • Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Associates degree in related design or engineering field.
