Bring your mechanical piping BIM expertise to a team delivering technically complex, high-profile commercial and high-rise projects across New York City. This Mechanical BIM Specialist opportunity is based in West Babylon, NY, with the chance to support coordination, fabrication, and field-ready documentation on major builds.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Mechanical BIM Specialist position include:
- 5+ years working for a mechanical piping contractor, with hands-on experience modeling, detailing, and coordinating mechanical piping.
- Produce Revit-based 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical piping systems, including hydronic, steam, and refrigerant piping.
- Develop shop drawings, coordination drawings, installation details, and fabrication sketches.
- Participate in BIM/MEP coordination meetings with electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, structural, and architectural teams to identify and resolve clashes prior to construction.
- Collaborate with the fabrication shop and field installation team to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and buildable.
- Interpret and work from architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Assist with as-built drawings and project closeout documentation.
- Support project managers and senior engineers in meeting schedules and project milestones.
Salary: $80,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
