Position Overview

The Mechanical Assembler II will independently assemble chucks and related mechanical components and subassemblies for WHW. This role is responsible for accurately building assemblies from blueprints, drawings, specifications, and standard work, including proper fit, alignment, and verification using precision measuring equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Independently assemble chucks and related mechanical components and subassemblies from blueprints, released drawings, bills of material, and work instructions.

Install, fit, and align chuck components to meet functional and quality requirements.

Troubleshoot and correct basic mechanical fit, alignment, and assembly issues within assigned builds.

Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and standard work requirements and escalate non-standard conditions as needed.

Ensure all safety, quality, and production standards are met and maintained.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Vocational or technical training preferred but not required.

Skills & Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment.

Ability to independently read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of material and build assemblies from those documents.

Demonstrated experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers and calipers, to verify dimensions and ensure assemblies meet specifications.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical issues related to fit, alignment, and assembly.

Willingness to learn mechanical assembly techniques and accept coaching from senior team members.

Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and peers.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods.

Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $22.50-28.00 (1st Shift)

       $26.26-32.20 (2nd Shift)
