Job Description

ALNYE Trucking (dba Nye’s Truck Repair & Wash) is seeking an experienced mechanic to join our team at our Moravia location. This is a full-time, 2nd shift position with on-call responsibilities and occasional travel to service calls.

We’re a family-oriented company offering a competitive wage and benefits package. Prior mechanic experience is preferred.

Requirements

• ‍1+ year of mechanic experience (Preferred)
• Valid NYS Driver’s License (Required)
• Willingness to travel (Approx. 25%)
• On-call availability, including weekends & overtime

Key Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance/repair
• Schedule and coordinate preventive/emergency services across Moravia, Cortland & Utica terminals
• Transport vehicles, tools, or parts as needed
• Maintain and track inventory of parts, tools, and supplies
• Maintain accurate service records and reports

Skills & Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving
• Knowledge of tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment
• Ability to manage paperwork and fleet management software
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards

Tools & Technology

• Fleet management software
• Standard mechanic tools, lifts, power tools
• Office equipment (printer, fax, scanner)

‍ Physical & Environmental Demands

• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs frequently
• Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing
• Work indoors and outdoors in various conditions
• Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, oils, and moving machinery
