Work includes installing, replacing, inspecting, testing, cleaning, preventive maintenance and repair of new and existing equipment. Also responsible for periodic repairs on diesel powered equipment and small engine repairs. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent, Valid Texas driver's license.Ability to communicate well and deal with all people in a courteous and positive manner. Capability to read and interpret building plans and specifications. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: LocksmithMaintain specific keyed locking systems installed at buildings, exterior doors, interior doors, special needs security doors. Analyze each job assignment and consult with Supervisor if material is needed. Keep records on labor and material of each job assignment and report to Supervisor. Repair all locks and locking devices throughout the district.Install new locks and rekey existing locks as needed. Make all repairs or replacements on door closures and door adjustments. Work with building principals to ensure each building maintains a master key system. Work with Supervisor on any emergencies that arise as needed.MechanicPerform periodic repairs to diesel or hydraulic equipment such as skid steers, backhoes and excavators as needed.Perform repairs to small engine equipment as needed. EQUIPMENT USED: Uses carpentry hand tools, power tools, stamp key machine; operates Magnolia ISD vehicle.Use mechanics tools as needed.
