Pay: $25+/hr

Schedule: Full-Time | 40+ Hours/Week

On-Call Rotation Required

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Mechanic I to join a leading industrial manufacturing facility in Columbia, SC. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment and machinery to support safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

-Install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and machinery

-Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections

-Troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete repairs

-Read blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals

-Assist with fabrication, welding, pipe fitting, and equipment installation

-Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment

-Follow all safety, quality, and environmental standards

Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or GED required

-Strong industrial maintenance background required

-35 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred

-Experience with welding, torch cutting, plasma cutting, and pipe fitting

-Experience with motor/shaft alignment and drill press equipment preferred

-Must pass a welding, torch cutting, plasma cutting, and pipe fitting test

-Must be willing to work a 10 days on / 4 days off schedule

-Must be available for an on-call rotation

-Mining or heavy industrial experience is a plus

Working Conditions:

-Industrial manufacturing environment

-Exposure to dust, noise, extreme temperatures, and moving equipment

-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor throughout the shift
