Mechanic

Position Summary

The Mechanic is responsible for performing journey-level maintenance and repair to City vehicle fleet. Fields of specialization should include gasoline and diesel engines hydraulic systems differentials electrical brakes (both hydraulic and air) air conditioning and front/rear suspensions on light and heavy equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Fleet Services Manager although most diagnostic and repair work is completed with considerable independence. Some Mechanics may exercise functional supervision over other Mechanics while in progress and upon completion.
