About the Role
A growing company is looking for a hands-on Meat Department Manager to run the day-to-day operations of its meat department. This role blends operational oversight with customer-facing work, from managing inventory and supervising a small team to fulfilling custom cuts for shoppers.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Oversee daily operations of the meat department
- Manage inventory levels and place product orders
- Ensure shelves and displays are fully stocked, organized, and well-presented
- Supervise a team of 4–5 employees and coordinate daily workflow
- Maintain cleanliness, quality standards, and department organization
Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with product requests
- Prepare and fulfill custom meat cuts based on customer specifications
- Build positive relationships with customers and ensure a high-quality shopping experience
Schedule
- Sunday–Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Thursday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a meat department or supermarket environment preferred
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Ability to manage inventory and oversee daily operations
- Hands-on, dependable, and proactive
