Meat Counter Store Clerk

Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour + tips
Job Type: Full-time - Must be able to work Saturdays. This is a daytime job, we are open 9am-5pm. No nighttime shifts are offered.
About Us: Central Meats & Almost Catered has proudly served the Hampton Roads community since 1960, offering top-quality meats and exceptional service. We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Meat Counter Clerk to join our fast-paced retail butcher shop.
Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service at the meat counter
- Assist customers with product selections and special requests
- Wrap, label, and package meat products accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Operate in a cold environment (refrigerated meat counter)
- Follow all food safety and handling guidelines
- Work efficiently during high-volume periods
Requirements:
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Available to work Saturdays
- Ability to work in a cold environment
- High stress tolerance and teamwork skills
- Retail or food service experience is a plus
