Full Position Description: POSITION: Meals on Wheels Assistant & Driver General Description: Under direct supervision of the In-Home Services Director, assists the Meals on Wheels site manager by preparing and packaging food, interacting with volunteers, delivering meals, and maintaining a clean service space. Additional Information: This is a part-time (up to 25 hours), hourly, regular, non-exempt position. SRI compensation schedule 11. Reports to Director of In-Home Services. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Works at home-delivered meal sites as assigned and in all aspects of meal service. 2. Assists with the packing and distribution of food, delivering meals as assigned. 3. Interacts and communicates with volunteers serving at the site. 4. Assures proper food temperatures and food safety, following required regulations. 5. Maintains cleanliness in the meal service area, following sanitation regulations. 6. Ensures completion of all end of service cleaning tasks, including kitchen equipment, utensils, floor,and garbage. 7. Attends training for portion control, record keeping, food safety, sanitation procedures, and othertrainings scheduled by the Director. 8. Maintains SRI vehicle and vehicle records, per Transportation Training Manual. 9. Provides assistance to the Director of In-Home Services as requested. 10. Other duties and tasks as required by the Director of In-Home Services, or as required to fulfill the mission of the organization. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma (or equivalent), a valid Driver’s License, and access to transportation. Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently to meet team goals, required. Must be dependable and courteous in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift, bend and carry up to 25 lbs for 100 feet. Must be willing to work on Thanksgiving and possibly one other holiday. |
