Overview:

A warm, organized, and respectful family on the Upper West Side is seeking an exceptional Part-Time Family Assistant to join their household beginning in mid-September. This position will work alongside the family's long-term full-time nanny.

The family has two young children (ages 2.5 years and 8 months) and is looking for someone who enjoys creating a calm, organized home while providing loving, attentive childcare when needed. This is an ideal opportunity for a career family assistant or nanny who is highly organized, proactive, enjoys cooking, and takes pride in anticipating a family's needs. The family values long-term relationships and has received consistently positive feedback from household staff regarding their supportive and respectful work environment.

 

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday
  • 2:30-7:30pm
  • Start Date: Mid-September
  • Live-out position
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Approximately:

  • 40% Cooking & Meal Preparation
    • Prepare healthy, nutritious family meals
    • Meal prep and kitchen organization
    • Grocery organization and pantry maintenance as needed
  • 30% Household Support
    • Family laundry
    • Household organization
    • Light housekeeping and daily tidying
    • Closet and organizational projects
    • Maintain an orderly home between professional cleanings
  • 30% Childcare
    • Assist with the family's two children as needed
    • Support the full-time nanny during busy periods
    • Engage children through age-appropriate play, reading, conversation, and developmental activities
    • Maintain established routines and provide a nurturing, positive presence
Qualifications:
  • Experience with infants and toddlers
  • Background in education or child development is a plus
  • Passport for occasional domestic and international travel (travel is appreciated but not required)
  • Comfortable supporting developmental milestones and encouraging age-appropriate independence
Requirements:
  • Prior experience as a Family Assistant, Nanny, or Household Assistant in a private home
  • Strong professional references
  • Clear English communication skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Up-to-date vaccinations required
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable preparing healthy meals
  • Strong common sense and problem-solving abilities
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Minimal personal phone use while working
  • No smoking or vaping
Salary and Benefits:
  • $30-$35 per hour, depending on experience
  • One week of paid vacation
