Job Description:

Summary:

The MCU Product Development & Yield Enhancement Engineer will serve as the technical owner for assigned product lines. You will bridge the gap between design engineering and manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless technology transfer and robust mass production performance.

This role requires a seasoned engineer with a proven track record in the semiconductor industry, specifically in MCU or complex SoC environments. You will lead yield improvement initiatives, manage customer quality issues, and drive cost optimization projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • NPI/New Product Introduction (NPI) & ProductizationMCU,AEC-Q100/JEDEC,/Oversee the end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) flow for MCU products from wafer to finished goods. This includes defining test solutions, evaluating reliability data (AEC-Q100/JEDEC standards), and authoring datasheets and production test specifications. Collaborate with design teams to perform product characterization, ensuring performance meets industrial or automotive grade standards.
  • /Yield Enhancement & Wafer Analysis,,,/Lead yield improvement roadmaps for mass production, utilizing statistical tools to monitor process windows across wafer fabrication and assembly/test operations. Conduct root cause analysis for low-yield lots and collaborate with foundries and OSATs to optimize process parameters, ensuring yield remains at industry-leading levels.
  • /Engineering Change & Cost Reduction,,/Manage the Engineering Change (EC) process, including second source qualification, test program optimization, and packaging material substitution. Achieve annual cost reduction targets by reducing test times and optimizing supply chain solutions without compromising product quality.
  • /Failure Analysis & Customer Complaint Handling,,/Lead failure analysis for market returns and production excursions, utilizing electrical and physical analysis techniques to pinpoint failure mechanisms. Author analysis reports and establish corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure of customer complaints.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • /Education/Master degree in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • /Technical SkillsCMOS/FlashQFN/LQFP/BGA,,/Familiar with CMOS/Flash process flows and packaging technologies such as QFN/LQFP/BGA. Proficient in analog and digital circuit fundamentals, capable of independently reading schematics and layouts. Possess solid statistical knowledge and proficiency in applying Six Sigma methodologies for data analysis.
  • /Experience5,MCU32IATF16949/5 years of experience in semiconductor product engineering; prior experience with full lifecycle NPI for MCUs or 32-bit microcontrollers is preferred. Familiarity with automotive grade chip development flows and IATF16949 quality management systems is highly desirable.
  • /Language Skills,/Excellent English proficiency (written and spoken), capable of drafting technical reports in English and conducting technical liaison with overseas customers or vendors.
  • /Competencies,/Strong logical thinking and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple project schedules under high pressure.
