My AmeriCorps - Home Page MCNCE VISTA- Food Access & Outreach Coordinator at ANC
At Aaniiih Nakoda College we aim to provide quality post-secondary education for residents of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation and surrounding communities. Our College promotes individual and community development by maintaining and revitalizing the Indigenous lifeways of the Aaniinen and Nakoda Tribes and by preparing students to succeed in American technological society. The member will develop and implement programming for the Food Lodge and associated food access programs, including menu development, program coordination, and campus garden operations, to expand student access to nutritious food. Grounded in ANC''s belief that students who know themselves and where they come from are more likely to succeed, the member will design and implement cultural, engagement, and community-building event programming that strengthens student identity, belonging, and retention. Through data collection systems, resource mapping initiatives, and community partnership development, the member will establish sustainable program models that connect food access and engagement to long-term student outcomes and build organizational capacity for continued impact. Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) serves as the intermediary for this project. MCNCE is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to fostering civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across Montana. Led by CEOs from participating institutions, MCNCE works to improve community life and educate students on civic and social responsibility, preparing them to be thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged leaders.
