Position Title Program Coordinator - Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program McNa ir Scholars Program Work Schedule 12- month full -time exempt Reports to Director of McNair Scholars Program

Duties include but are not limited to

Implements identification and recruitment of McNair program scholars including collaboration with oth er campus departments McNair Ambassadors staff and faculty to plan and attend scholar recruitment events.

Works with the Academic Coordinator to oversee event planning for staff and scholar group travel including graduate school visits academic confer ences and program events.

Guides new scholars through initial program integration. Meets regularly with scholars for Academic Counseling including assisting with data entry for scholar services provided for processing and completion of the annual perfor mance report. Attends staff professional development conferences and academic conferences scholarly events with scholars as needed some overnightout -of-state travel is required.

Revises and maintains program policy and procedure manuals and handbooks. Tracks and assists with reporting objectives for annual reporting including generating and compiling data for the McNair Annual Performance Report.

Performs other duties within the scope of the departments responsibilities as defined by the Director.

Manages the McNair Scholars Programs online presence and oversees multiple social media accounts. Other duties as assigned. Due to the collaborative nature of the team and the need for direct scholar interaction in- person attendance is an essential fu nction of this position.

Minimum requirements Some graduate- level work or related research experience is required including knowledge of the graduate school application postbaccalaureate process standards and expectations. Strategic thinker with a r esults -oriented mindset and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments. Demonstrate commitment and ability to o Plan organize and remain accountable for actions o Problem -solving utilizing critical thinking skills o Function in a confidential manner o Collaborate with other staff Experience planning and organizing group travel preferred. Experience with marketing social media or advertising Valid drivers license with the ability to travel as required.

Physical Requirements Prolonged Sitting The ability to remain in a stationary position for 75 -90 of the work day. Manual Dexterity The fine motor skills required to operate a computer mouse and phone or to handle paper files and office equipment. Visual Acuity The ability to see and read a computer screen for extended periods SedentaryLight Lifting The ability to lift up to 15 lbs . Reaching & Bending Occasionally needing to reach above head level or bend down to access low filing cabinets or plug in computer cables. Noise Levels The ability to work in an environment with moderate noise phones ringing printers open office chatter. The requirements listed above minimum and physical are representative of the knowledge skill andor ability required.

Desired Qualifications Masters degree preferred experience with TRIO student information systems and recruiting. Knowledge of the graduate school application and postbaccalaureate process and standards is strongly preferred. Strong communication attention to detail organiz ational and record- keeping skills are required. Ability to understand and react appropriately to requests from various constituencies such as students prospective students staff faculty and the public.
