Job Title: McKinney-Vento Program FLSA: Nonexempt Support Services Specialist

Reports to: Director of Guidance and Counseling Pay Grade: Temp ($40/hour)

Contract: Probationary/Term Revised: 7.29.2026 The McKinney-Vento Program Support Services Specialist provides non-instructional supplemental program support through consultation, community partnership coordination, and family resource navigation to support implementation of the McKinney-Vento Program and enhance access to resources for students and families experiencing homelessness. Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree preferred in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or related field Experience working with homeless and highly mobile student populations preferred Knowledge of community-based resources and family support services

  1. Provide program consultation and technical assistance related to McKinney-Vento support services

  2. Assist with initiatives that support the goals and objectives of the McKinney-Vento Program and applicable federal grants

  3. Support implementation of the McKinney-Vento Program through assigned program activities Community Partnerships

  4. Coordinate with community agencies and external service providers to identify resources available for students and families experiencing homelessness Qualifications Primary Purpose Major Responsibilities and Duties McKinney-Vento Program Support Services Specialist Job Description

  5. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners

  6. Facilitate referrals to community resources and non-instructional support services Family Resource Navigation

  7. Assist students and families in accessing community resources that support educational stability and student success

  8. Provide information and referrals regarding available community resources and social service programs

  9. Support efforts to reduce barriers to enrollment, attendance, and academic success through resource coordination Documentation and Compliance

  10. Maintain accurate documentation of program activities, services provided, and referrals

  11. Prepare reports and maintain records required for program monitoring and federal grant compliance

  12. Assist with monitoring activities and audits by maintaining required documentation Other Duties

  13. Maintain confidentiality of student and family information in accordance with applicable laws, District policy, and program requirements

  14. Comply with all District policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state requirements

  15. Perform other duties as assigned None The evaluation of the Program Support Services Specialist is a responsibility resting with the Director of Guidance and Counseling. An evaluation shall be completed in writing at least once during the course of each school year.
