Position Title: Office of Public Art Project Assistant

Number of open positions: 4 Anticipated Start Date: 6/8/26 End Date: 7/31/26
Hours of work per week: Up to 35 hours per week
Business/Work Hours: 9:00AM - 5:00PM, FLEXIBLE BASED ON PROJECT NEEDS
Pay Rate: $13/hour
General Description:
The purpose of this class within the organization is to implement a variety of community, recreational, cultural, special events, and other programs at City of Charleston designated facilities. This position is part of the Mayor's Summer Youth Jobs Program for individuals aged 16-20 years old. Employment dates are June 8, 2026, through July 31, 2026, with potential extensions based on availability and departmental needs. This position works under close supervision and performs duties according to established procedures.
Responsibilities, tasks, and projects:
Office of Public Art Project Assistant serves as an assistant to the COPA Director and functions as a project leader on COPA initiatives.
