Title: Materials Technician (Shipping & Receiving)
Location: Rockville MD 20850
Duration: 12+ Months

Training Shifts
First 6 Weeks
Monday Friday (8: 00 5: 00 PM)

After Training Shifts (24/7/365 Operations)
Day Shift: 6: 00 AM EST 6: 30 PM EST
Night Shift: 6: 00 PM EST 6: 30 AM EST
Weekend: Rotating Biweekly Schedule
One Week 2 Days On, 2 Days Off, 3 Days On
Other Week 2 Days Off, 2 Days On, 3 Days Off


Key responsibilities:
  • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks to move stock or organize materials
  • Coordinates and leads training for on the job training of new team members
  • Trained as an L1 Auditor and participate in >25% of department s L1 Inspections
  • Shipping and Receiving
  • Performs receipt and quarantine of incoming cGMP raw materials in SAP per quality and safety requirements
  • Performs raw material control sampling and consumable inspection following appropriate material specifications and input into sample tracking system
  • Executes the shipping of bulk drug product per cGMP procedures to insure quality, integrity and on time delivery
  • Follows DOT requirements for transport of materials
  • Inventory Control
  • Ensures inventory levels remain accurate in SAP and perform periodic inventory checks
  • Performs bulk drug freeze down and shipping procedures including use of controlled rate freezing equipment

Qualification requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Material handling experience including forklift training
  • Basic computer literacy;Excel, Word, Warehouse inventory systems. Strong reading, writing and communication skills.
  • Inventory control functions and training are conducted with web or data based systems.
  • Warehouse and material handling experience, prefer pharmaceutical industry experience. Cold chain experience preferred
  • Will be performing job functions in a cGMP warehouse
  • Valid driver s license with clean driving record
  • Physical requirements including stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting upto 50lbs
  • Position may require employees to work shifts, holidays, weekends, and over-time
