Job Summary: Seeking an experienced Materials Planning Manager to lead materials planning, demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply-demand balancing activities within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience and a proven ability to improve material availability, inventory performance, and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead materials planning strategies, demand forecasts, supply planning, and inventory plans.
- Manage and develop materials planning teams through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Lead cross-functional planning reviews covering demand, supply constraints, inventory, backlog, and service levels.
- Drive inventory optimization, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and reduction of excess/obsolete materials.
- Partner with Operations, Procurement, Production Planning, Logistics, Customers, and Executive Leadership.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks while ensuring material availability for production schedules.
- Support S&OP, capacity planning, demand management, and strategic supply chain initiatives.
- Analyze complex planning and inventory data to support business-critical decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in materials planning, supply chain, manufacturing, or related areas.
- Proven experience managing or leading materials planning teams.
- Strong expertise in demand forecasting, inventory management, supply planning, and S&OP.
- Experience in high-volume or complex manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel and data analytics skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
