Job Title: Materials Planner

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the MP&L Manager, the Materials Planner is responsible for guaranteeing the timely delivery of raw materials to fulfill production demands and support new product launches. The Materials Planner proficiently manages inventory levels, effectively communicates delivery statuses, and cultivates robust relationships with stakeholders across all organization levels both internally and externally.

Responsibility:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with suppliers through effective communication and excellent customer service.

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate material schedules and inventory positions.

  • Communicate raw materials shortages, update supply plans, and execute on follow-up actions.

  • Contribute to key performance indicators of suppliers past due, on-time delivery, schedule attainment, inventory levels and reduction of premium freight and overtime costs.

  • Monitor movement of all raw materials into plants to ensure that manufacturing and customer needs are met.

  • Reconcile supplier non-conformances, return of product and re-planning of material needs.

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels against target levels.

  • Responsible for cycle counts and inventory accuracy of components and raw material.

  • Manage long term planning for strategic suppliers and participate in supplier capacity reviews.

  • Minimize obsolescence.

  • Streamline and improve internal processes utilizing lean tools and standardization.

Academic/Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering or related field.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in coordinating teams and clients.

  • Proven success in a corporate setting, working with all levels of management.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Three or more years of experience in project coordination.
