As a Materials Manufacturing Engineer at The Gund Company, you'll help develop materials, improve manufacturing processes, and support technical projects that strengthen our operations across multiple facilities.

    We're looking for a hands-on, curious, and driven Materials Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with people, and bringing technical ideas to life.

    What You'll Do

    As a Materials Manufacturing Engineer, you'll partner with engineering, operations, quality, and plant teams to support high-impact materials and process development projects from concept through implementation. You'll help improve composite material performance, strengthen process controls, and contribute to projects that deliver measurable results.

    You will:

    Serve as a technical resource for composite materials, product development, and related process issues

    Support material development, formulation adjustments, raw material qualifications, and product realization

    Develop and improve composite-related processes, process controls, and associated documentation

    Support capital equipment projects, including specifications, statements of work, vendor bids, installation, and startup

    Manage engineering change controls, process documentation, and best-practice communication across facilities

    Analyze complex data and prepare clear technical reports, white papers, and recommendations

    Lead or support A3 projects, FMEA and Control Plan initiatives, DMAIC efforts, and Green Belt continuous improvement projects

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, engineering, sales, quality, and operations

    Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost





    What You'll Bring

    We're looking for someone with strong technical fundamentals, a growth mindset, and the confidence to take ownership while continuing to learn.

    Ideal qualifications include:

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

    2+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment

    Background in materials, composites, equipment, or process development in a manufacturing setting

    Experience with thermoset composites and associated processes

    Experience with process documentation, including FMEA and control plans

    Experience with capital equipment procurement, specification, installation, or startup

    Project management competency with strong organization, communication, and follow-through skills

    Ability to analyze complex data and perform statistical analysis

    Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management tools

    Exposure to FMEA, Control Plans, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC, or continuous improvement

    A self-starter mindset with a desire to grow, contribute, and make an impact
