Materials Manager

We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to join an established manufacturing organization. This is an excellent leadership opportunity for a professional who can effectively oversee day-to-day materials operations while demonstrating the financial acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership potential to advance into a Director of Materials role within approximately 2–3 years.

Requirements

5+ years of Materials Management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within sheet metal fabrication, metalworking, contract manufacturing, or a related industrial manufacturing industry.

Strong leadership experience overseeing purchasing/procurement, inventory control, shipping and receiving, material planning, and supply chain operations, with the ability to develop teams and eventually lead materials functions across multiple facilities.

Strong ERP/MRP knowledge, including production scheduling, material requirements planning, inventory optimization, and supplier performance management.

Strong financial and analytical capabilities, with a demonstrated track record of improving inventory accuracy, reducing excess inventory and material shortages, controlling costs, improving supplier performance, and understanding the impact of materials decisions on profitability and working capital.

Postsecondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred. However, relevant manufacturing and materials management experience will take precedence over formal education.
