    Location

    (Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

    Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

    Job Summary

    Responsible for receiving packages from vendors and delivering to campus as addressed. Processes purchase order receipts according to department instructions and procedures. Helps load and unload materials at designated pick-up and/or delivery locations. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment to move items within the storage facility. Has knowledge of commonly used practices, procedures, and safety protocols within a particular field to include all areas of distribution, warehouse, surplus, and inventory. Fosters a safe working environment. Performs other Central Receiving and Distribution duties as assigned. Operates Campus Vehicles on a regular basis. Routinely interacts with all constituents within the University community.

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Executes delivery and removal of University property from campus departments as requested via electronic request system

    2. Performs a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks and duties in support of various services provided by Central Receiving and Distribution

    3. Assists with pick-ups and deliveries on and between campuses as directed

    4. Assists in accounting for items received or delivered via appropriate paperwork and/or tracking systems

    5. Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck, dolly or other appropriate equipment

    6. Properly secures items for transportation and unloading

    7. Positions and organizes items within workspaces according to established guidelines

    8. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies

    9. Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices

    10. Disposes of state property when and as directed according to established guidelines

    11. Maintains equipment and machine performance by addressing simple problems and correcting issues when possible

    12. Works effectively in a service-oriented environment subject to frequent changes in priorities

    13. Follows through and carries out assignments

    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements

    High School diploma or equivalent

    Other Required Qualifications

    Current, valid and unrestricted drivers license

    Required Experience

    One (1) year related work experience

    Ability to operate various equipment related to role and department

    Preferred Educational Qualifications

    An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    ABILITIES

    Able to drive KSU vehicles (gator, golf carts, etc.) to different areas on campus

    Able to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions, interpret campus maps and basic drawings

    Able to use a variety of standard power and hand tools safely and efficiently as needed

    Able to wear appropriate safety and protective equipment (PPE)

    Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

    KNOWLEDGE

    Knowledge of maintenance processes, equipment and products; maintaining a safe environment

    Understands and applies University and Departmental policies and procedures

    Knowledge of proper and safe use of equipment, tools, etc.

    SKILLS

    Good interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), and time management skills

    Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)

    Attention to detail and follow up skills

    Good customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
