Materials Clerk / Materials Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Consistently apply SEL Values and Principles of Operation.

2. Maintain a deep understanding of the concepts of World Class Manufacturing and consistently apply them to understand, create, and simplify processes in your area. Teach others in WCM concepts and provide resources to remove barriers for them.

3. Demonstrates experience with multiple advanced material management operations as required by location to consistently exceed customer expectations for service and delivery. Can identify most risks, begins to anticipate problems, and collaborates with others to avoid them. Lead team and inter-department improvements and participate in global improvement projects. Own continuous improvement actions.

4. Drive team performance metrics by sharing previous experiences, removing barriers, providing guidance on new assignments, and by participating in regular feedback.

5. Involves others as appropriate when making decisions in team and inter-departmental environments. Trains others on processes and equipment.

6. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area and equipment and lead efforts to improve.

7. Model and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

8. Understand. Create. Simplify.

9. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Progressive experience as a Senior Materials Clerk, or equivalent experience

Intermediate computer skills

Ability to train others

Strong math, documentation, reading, writing and communication skills

Manual dexterity and ability to concentrate

Ability to provide support and direction to others in a team environment

Ability to listen, comprehend and follow instructions

Adhere to SEL's tobacco-free policy

Compliance with heightened periodic drug testing for operators of SEL vehicles

Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Receiving/Warehousing Experience

Experience in forklift truck operation

Physical Requirements

Ability to frequently lift 40 pounds

Pay Ranges

Materials Clerk: $26.00-$33.87

Senior Materials Clerk: $27.69-$35.36

Materials Specialist: $29.76-$37.36

Senior Materials Specialist: $32.02-$39.52
