JOB TITLE: Materials and Processes Engineer - 5
LOCATION:Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $80.52/hour

Summary: 

  • Works on engineering projects containing critical problems requiring major technological advances and extensive related development.

  • Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope.

  • Makes technical decisions and recommendations that have an important impact on extensive engineering activities.

  • Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge.

  • Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas.

  • Acts independently to determine improved methods or procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements.

  • Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.

  • Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program.

  • Generates and communicates technical requirements to external suppliers and internal multi-engineering disciplines including Powerplant, Environmental Control, Structures, Electrical, and Mechanical.

  • Uses Smarteam and Catia for reviewing proposed designs and workflows, and produces EAR approved test plans and results reports.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential functions.

  • 13 years specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelor's.

  • Experience credit for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

  • Experience generating and communicating technical requirements to external suppliers and internal multi-engineering disciplines.

  • Experience with Smarteam and Catia for reviewing proposed designs and workflows.

  • Experience producing EAR approved test plans and results reports.

  • Demonstrated successful manufacturing liaison material review board (MRB) integration and implemented continuous improvement projects.

  • Good understanding of continuous improvement and how it relates to Materials and Processes (M&P).

  • Preferred: Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum.
