About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a Fortune 5 technology company on an exciting opportunity for a Material Program Manager (MPM) supporting a high-volume hardware and robotics environment.
The Material Program Manager will be responsible for driving end-to-end material readiness throughout the product lifecycle, from New Product Introduction (NPI) through beta builds and General Availability (GA).
This position will serve as a key connection point between Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality, ensuring materials are available, risks are identified early, and product development milestones are supported.
The ideal candidate has strong experience managing BOMs, NPI programs, material readiness, ERP/MRP systems, supply constraints, and cross-functional hardware programs.
Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute the Material Readiness Report, providing visibility into material risks, lead times, supply health, and build readiness.
• Drive material program governance, including ECO-to-PO change management, ensuring engineering changes are translated into actionable supply-chain activities.
• Develop and maintain program mechanisms such as dashboards, trackers, escalation frameworks, and reporting tools to proactively identify and mitigate material risks.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Procurement, Contract Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
• Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) maturity from prototype through volume production.
• Support material qualification and build-readiness assessments across different phases of the product lifecycle.
• Lead material allocation decisions and help resolve material shortages, supply constraints, and receipt holds.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for material-related issues.
• Manage material phase-in / phase-out strategies in alignment with engineering change orders and product revision schedules.
• Establish and improve repeatable material program management processes that can scale across multiple concurrent programs.
• Track purchase orders, demand signals, material availability, and supply planning outputs through ERP/MRP systems.
• Identify potential supply risks early and develop mitigation plans in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Communicate material risks, trade-offs, recommendations, and program status to senior leadership using clear, data-driven reporting.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Material Program Management, Supply Chain Program Management, NPI/Operations Program Management, or a related field.
• Experience working in a hardware product development environment, such as robotics, consumer electronics, industrial systems, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience managing BOMs throughout the NPI lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with EVT, DVT, PVT, or equivalent hardware development phases.
• Strong understanding of material readiness and build-readiness processes.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, such as Oracle, SAP, or equivalent.
• Ability to track purchase orders, material demand, supply planning, and procurement activities.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional programs involving Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience building and maintaining material readiness dashboards, trackers, and reporting mechanisms.
• Strong Excel, Smartsheet, BI, or similar data/reporting capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
