Title:

Material Handling Laborer

KBR is seeking a qualified and dependable Material Handling Laborer (MHL) to provide essential support in our Patuxent River / Lexington Park, MD facility. This position requires performing various physical tasks vital to the success of aircraft Test & Evaluation (T&E) operations. The successful candidate will assist in the handling, transportation, and storage of materials and test equipment, while maintaining a clean, organized work environment. Candidates must meet the Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance requirements as part of their employment. A current/active DoD Secret Security Clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling and Transport: Assist with the movement, transport, and storage of materials and test equipment in support of aircraft T&E operations. Manually load and unload transportation devices, ensuring all materials are safely transported. Utilize hand trucks, carts, or other equipment to move materials as required.
  • Receiving, Inventory, and Storage: Receive and inspect incoming deliveries, ensuring items are correctly accounted for and in proper condition. Store materials and equipment in designated storage areas, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
  • Facility Maintenance and Equipment Care: Perform routine facility upkeep, including cleaning and organizing workspaces to maintain a safe and efficient environment. Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of test equipment and materials in storage or equipment rooms.
  • General Support to T&E Operations: Provide logistical and physical support to the T&E team, including assisting with the setup, breakdown, and organization of test equipment. Ensure timely and accurate transport and availability of materials for testing purposes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess a current or active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: No prior experience required. This is an entry-level position. The candidate must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to meet specific physical demands, including but not limited to the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday. Occasional lifting of heavier objects may be required with assistance from team members or mechanical aids. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day, depending on the assigned duties. Ability to perform manual labor tasks, including bending, stooping, and kneeling, in various environmental conditions (e.g., indoor/outdoor, varying temperatures). Work may be performed in environments that include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

  • Associate's Degree

This is an SCA position. Pay rate of $17.37/HR.

Other: The selected candidate will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for the required DoD Secret Security Clearance.
