Description: Material Handler Pay Rate: $17.05 per hour Location: Chicago, IL Job Type: Hourly Steel Toe Shoes required Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, moving, and organizing materials within or near the plant, yard, or worksite. This role supports daily production operations by ensuring materials and packaging supplies are delivered to the appropriate workstations in a timely manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Review work orders or follow verbal instructions to identify materials, skids, and containers to be moved. - Load and unload materials by hand onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. - Transport materials from staging areas to designated workstations to support production schedules. - Count, weigh, and record quantities of materials handled on daily production sheets. - Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, and other containers. - Stack, bundle, and secure materials using bands or other appropriate methods. - Maintain clean work areas, machines, and equipment to support machine operators. - Ensure all necessary packaging materials, including skids and other supplies, are available at workstations as needed. - Properly maintain and care for any tools or equipment issued by the company. - Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
