Position Summary
This position plays a vital role in the movement, storage, and handling of steel coils and processed materials throughout our production facility. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, takes pride in maintaining an organized work area, and is committed to quality and safety.
Essential Responsibilities
Safely transport steel coils, finished products, and raw materials throughout the facility.
Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment (training provided as needed).
Supply production lines with materials while ensuring efficient workflow.
Verify material identification, quantities, and locations before moving product.
Assist with staging customer orders for shipment.
Maintain accurate inventory through proper material tracking and documentation.
Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies to supervisors.
Keep warehouse and production areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and quality standards.
Assist production, shipping, and receiving departments as business needs require.
Qualifications
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred.
Forklift experience preferred.
Overhead crane experience is a plus but not required.
Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and material labels.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift.
Work safely in a manufacturing environment around heavy equipment and steel products.
Ability to work overtime when needed.
