Material Handler

Ensures the proper and safe operation and maintenance of coal and ash handling equipment associated with the delivery, stockpiling, and processing of coal and the retrieval, processing and disposal of ash.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates all coal handling equipment in a safe, reliable & efficient manner.
Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulics on equipment.
Operates various coal handling equipment: dozer, loader, backhoe, roller, grader, cherry picker, trucks, coal conveyor system, tractor.
Assists with coal sample gathering.
Operates and maintains dust suppression systems (coal & road).
Provides assistance to other work groups as requested and performs other duties as assigned.
Material Handling Operator Level 1
Must be able to drive a tri-axle dump truck for hauling ash.
Seed landfill banks
Spread straw on landfill banks
Farm tractor
Monorail crane/hoist
Street Sweeper
Weed eaters
Bush hog
Handle solvents and cleaning agents
Dispose of lubricants
Add oil to chain lube oil reservoirs
Adjust oil drips flow to chains
Lubricate pulleys
Replace impact rollers
Maintain dust suppression system
Repair reclaim hopper grates
Repair vibrating feeders
Replace bearings
Replace conveyor belt scrapers
Replace feeder seals
Replace gear/sprocket drives
Replace guide rollers
Replace idler rollers
Replace return rollers
Replace shafts
Replace tail pulley
Replace trough rollers
Train conveyor belts
Perform a PM on coal conveying equipment
Apply anti-freeze to conveyor belts
Lubricate
Hold card/tagout coal handling equipment
Perform dust cleanups outside
Fill out lubrication sheets
Assist in the lubrication of mobile equipment
Change motor oil
Receive lime and ammonia truck deliveries
Operate dust control suppression systems (coal, road, & conveyor)
Drive water truck
Process paperwork on preventive maintenance checks
