POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Handler/Packaging Associate is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, packaging, storage, and movement of materials and finished goods throughout the facility. This position ensures products are packaged according to quality standards, inventory is accurately maintained, and materials are delivered to production and shipping areas in a timely manner to support operational goals and customer requirements. The role requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote a culture of safety by adhering to all safety policies and procedures, safely operating material handling equipment, using required PPE, identifying and reporting hazards, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Load, unload, move, and transport materials and finished goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Package products according to customer specifications and company quality standards.
Prepare, stage, and verify materials and finished goods for shipping and production.
Read and follow work orders, shipping documents, and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately.
Deliver materials to designated production and warehouse locations while maintaining inventory accuracy.
Apply labels, tags, and required documentation to materials and products.
Perform inventory transactions, counts, and material verification activities as required.
Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, hoists, and other authorized warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
Report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, quality concerns, or other material-related issues to supervision.
Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems, scanners, and other computer-based tools.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and material handling equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to perform all essential job functions safely, effectively, and in accordance with established quality and productivity standards.
