Overview: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for supplying the department production line as well as assisting with packing and shipping finished product in a safe and efficient manner to meet internal and external customer needs. Essential Functions: Promote and drive safety-first culture, ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and visitorsKnow and follow safety and emergency procedures as neededAnticipating product changeovers, picks and unloads/loads decoiler in a safe and responsible manner to aid in panel production as per daily production scheduleAssisting Roll Former Operator, routinely perform quality checks and make machinery adjustments as needed to provide customer with complete and damage-free productAid in wrapping/tagging of panels Complete all daily ordersEffectively coordinate with all department team members to ensure materials tracking compliance and efficient and steady production flowMaintain clean work area and workstation prep throughout shiftComplete housekeeping and workstation prep tasks prior to end of shiftAssist with performing preventative maintenance on machinery as per trainingTroubleshoot and/or notify immediate supervisor of machine breakdowns or issuesMaintain and/or update department visual tracking production schedule boardCross-train on other machines in the department and/or in other departments in the plantProvide support in meeting and/or exceeding department and plant goals such as safety, quality, scrap prevention and operational excellencePerform other duties as assigned.
