Material Handler – 1st Shift
Indianapolis, IN
Pro Resources is hiring a Material Handler for a steel processing and distribution facility in Indianapolis. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for someone with warehouse experience who is comfortable operating material-handling equipment and working in a safety-focused environment.
Pay and Schedule
- $20.00 per hour
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Temp-to-hire opportunity
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift and overhead crane
- Load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility
- Match order numbers to tags to ensure accurate shipments
- Receive and inspect incoming materials
- Pick and stage materials for production and shipping
- Inspect, label, band, and package finished products
- Process work orders and bills of lading
- Record material movements using an RF scanner
- Complete daily equipment inspections
- Keep work areas and walkways clean and free of debris
- Follow all established safety procedures
Qualifications
- At least one year of material handling or warehouse experience
- At least one year of experience operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or overhead cranes
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with RF scanners
- Ability to read work orders and accurately follow instructions
- Ability to use a tape measure, micrometer, caliper, and calculator
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for most of the shift
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Comfortable working near moving equipment and occasionally outdoors
