Material Handler I

Job Summary

The Material Handler I is responsible for supporting distribution center operations by receiving, storing, issuing, counting, and shipping materials and products. The role ensures accurate inventory management, timely order fulfillment, and efficient material flow throughout the supply chain while maintaining safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and picker trucks.
• Pick, pack, and ship customer orders according to established procedures.
• Use barcode scanners to process inventory transactions.
• Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits.
• Complete ERP/system transactions to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Ensure continuous material flow to support warehouse and distribution operations.
• Assist with physical inventories and other warehouse duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
