Material Handler/ Delivery Associate
Location: Newport News, VA
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM
Type: Contract to Hire
About the Company:
Our client is a leader in custom precision Sheetmetal manufacturing on the East Coast.
Responsibilities:
* Drive automatic transmission box truck and/or pick-up truck
* Deliver to commercial customers within state of Virginia
* Follow routes and time schedule
* Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
* Complete logs and reports
* Follow regulations and safety standards
* Obtain customer signature on delivery paperwork
* Count and package sheet metal products
* Move product by hand, cart, pallet jack, or forklift
* Tasked with General Labor duties when not making deliveries

* Minimum 3 years of experience in material handling/ deliveries
* Valid driver"s license (non-CDL)
* Ability to operate forklifts to load and unload tractor trailers and straight trucks
* Ability to drive in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Good driving record with no traffic violations, must meet our insurance requirements.
* Lift 50-75 lbs, stand, walk, sit, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, reach and perform repetitive hand and finger movements
* Must have reliable transportation and/or ability to get to work on time every day
* Good attendance is mandatory. Need to be flexible & available for overtime
