    Description

    VEKA, a national leader in the vinyl extrusion industry, is accepting applications for a Material Handler in Compounding forour site in Fombell, PA . 

    JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining raw material and finished goods inventory according to VEKA established standards enabling VEKA to provide a quality product/service to ensure customer satisfaction.

    PRIMARY DUTIES:

    • Responsible for daily forklift safety checks.
    • Stocks and delivers raw materials to the correct floors and bins. 6th floor, 4th floor, and 3rd floor.
    • Responsible for placing empty supersacks on pallet and uses banter to strap sacks to pallet to be returned to vendor
    • Enters all ingredients into a data file with the following information: ingredient name, lot number, date, and pounds.
    • Collaborates with shift supervisor to assure all raw materials are in the correct bins and the supervisors are notified of any changes.
    • Responsible for railcar sampling
    • Responsible for daily railcar inventory
    • Responsible for daily TrackMobile safety checks
    • Responsible and able to unload railcars. Makes sure resin is being unloaded at all times.
    • Responsible for housekeeping of Tower, Mezzanine, Rail Car unloading Area and Entire Compound Plant ensuring a clean and safe work environment
    • All other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS:

    • Able to identify all Compounds and Minor Ingredients
    • Able to run the TrackMobile safely.
    • Passes forklift safety training; classroom and driving test.
    • Is up to date on all Safety training; computer and on job training.
    • Knowledge and understanding of all elevator operation safety and rules.
    • Dependable and punctual
    • Works well in a group
    • Good planning skills
    • Ability to work independently and with accuracy
    • Drive to take initiative

    EDUCATION:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Certified Fork Truck Operator License

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Must be able to move objects up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to ascend or descend ladders and stairs and the like
    • Ability to stand, sit, walk, push, pull for extended periods of time, occasionally kneeling and bending

     

    NOTE:  This is a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.  Shift differential: additional $1.00 between the hours of 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm; additional $1.50 between the hours of 7:00 pm - 7:00 am.
