Position Summary
The Material Handler supports NECI warehouse and logistics operations through accurate order picking, material movement, loading and unloading activities, local deliveries, inventory support, and crate fabrication. This role ensures customer orders, shop orders, and project materials are safely handled, staged, packaged, and delivered while maintaining NECI standards for safety, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and stage customer orders, shop orders, production orders, and transfer orders accurately and on time.
- Pull components and materials required for fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing activities.
- Verify quantities, part numbers, and condition of materials against pick lists.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments safely and efficiently.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Receive incoming materials and inspect shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Operate NECI box trucks for local deliveries, pickups, and transfers.
- Complete pre-shift vehicle inspections and maintain required documentation.
- Assist in building wood crates and packaging solutions for shipments.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and secure crating materials using hand and power tools.
- Apply shipping labels, packing slips, and required documentation.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and organized storage practices.
- Keep warehouse, shipping, and staging areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other warehouse projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred.
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving record required.
- Forklift experience preferred or ability to become certified.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in warehouse, loading dock, outdoor, and customer-site environments.
The starting pay for this position will be between $24 and $26 per hour, depending on experience.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
